Paloma graduated in Translation and Interpreting in 1984 (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona) and then followed an MA program in Hispanic Literature at the University of South Carolina (Columbia; U.S.A.), where she also taught Spanish to undergraduate students, as a Teaching Assistant, and worked as a French tutor for the USC Athletics Department.
After combining functions as Information Assistant and translator/interpreter in the United States Embassy in Madrid (United States Information Service), she worked as a freelance translator, as well as for the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the translation team for Spain’s Presidency of the EU in 2002.
In 2003, she joined the LSP Traducciones Políglota as partner. She is the General Manager of the company since 2005.
Paloma is a sworn translator of English and French after successfully passing the exams of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has also been a member of the jury in the exams of the Spanish Parliament for the recruitment of English and French translators.
Secretary of the Technical Committee for Translation Services at AENOR (Spanish Standardisation Association), she has taken part in the drafting of EN-15038 and ISO-17100 standards. She is also a member of ISO TC37 Committee for Translation Services.
